Your Path to a Career at Island Temporary Nursing
Island Temporary Nursing is closely affiliated with Hawai’i Healthcare School (HHS) — a dedicated Nurse Aide training program right here in Honolulu. Completing the HHS NA certification course is one of the most direct routes to joining the ITN team.
HHS graduates who apply to ITN are given priority consideration for placement. From classroom to caregiver — we want to help you every step of the way.
About Hawai’i Healthcare School

Hawai’i Healthcare School was established to train the next generation of Nurse Aides for careers in home care, senior facilities, and hospitals across Honolulu. The curriculum is designed to give graduates both the foundational knowledge and the hands-on skills they need to care for clients with confidence and compassion.
The NA Certification Program
The Nurse Aide training course runs approximately three weeks, Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm — totaling around 100–150 hours of instruction and supervised practice.

The program covers:
- Patient care fundamentals and professional conduct
- Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) — bathing, grooming, dressing, mobility
- Vital sign measurement — blood pressure, pulse, respiration, temperature
- Intake and output (I&O) recording
- Infection control and safety procedures
- Communication with clients, families, and care teams
- Range of motion (ROM) exercises and repositioning
BLS & First Aid certification is integrated into the course — graduates are trained and ready from day one.
Hands-On from the Start

HHS keeps class sizes small so every student gets personal attention from experienced instructors. Training takes place in a realistic clinical environment — and includes a facility practicum, where students work in actual care settings to build real-world confidence before graduation.
From Graduation to Employment
Once you complete your NA certification at HHS, the next step is simple:
- Apply to ITN — see our Join Our Team page for the application form and requirements.
- Priority placement — HHS graduates are actively recruited by ITN and receive priority consideration for open positions.
- Start working — ITN offers flexible scheduling, weekly pay, and ongoing support so you can build a career on your own terms.
There is no application fee, and our coordinators are happy to answer questions in English or Japanese before and after your training.
